Black screen with Nvidia Quadro P2000

hi everybody,

I know, this problem was threated just many other times... but I tried to find something to similar in this forum... but I found anything of useful.

I have two PCs with AMD CPU and Nvidia Quadro P2000. I have to connect with them with the monitor off or not connected with a cable from PCs to monitors. When I use TeamViewer I have to refresh the view many many times or I have a black screen. Also when I just connecting to the PCs... the screen in black... so I have to refresh for viewing the lock screen and insert the password. Same thing when I install a software that requires administrator permissions... I have to refresh for avoid the black screen.

If I disble the graphic card and I use the internal VGA of the CPU... this problem disapperas!

Anyone could help me?

Thanks in advance and regards,

Stefano

    Hello @steffex, 😄

Thanks for your post and welcome to the TeamViewer Community!

A black screen could be caused by different reasons, but usually, it's possible to correct it by disabling the hardware acceleration.

👉 Click on the gear (⚙) to open TeamViewer OptionsAdvanced → On More, select the option Disable hardware accelerationOk → Restart TeamViewer services, and try to do the remote connection again.

Did you try it already? If not, let me know if it fixed the issue.

Also, let us know if you have further questions.

Hi Carol and than you for you reply.

I forgot to tell you that the remote computer has only the Teamviewer Host (PCs) and the Teamviewer controller is a Mac.

So, I can't find the option that you kindly show me, I'm sorry!!

Hi Stefano, It's all good! 😃

    Thanks for the additional details!!!

In the remote computer with TeamViewer Host, you can find this option by clicking on Show hidden items → Right click TeamViewer icon, and select Options.

Then go to Advanced → On More, select the option Disable hardware acceleration → Ok → Restart TeamViewer Host services (or reboot the device), and try to do the remote connection again.

Mac devices don't have this option, so you don't need to worry about it in your Mac. 😊

    Also, just a few questions...

    • Do both of your devices have a monitor plugged in?
    • Are they desktop, or laptop?

I will wait for your feedback. 🙋‍♀️

Let us know how if you have questions.

    Best,

    Hi Carol,

thank you very much for your reply.

I connected to the remote host and I tried to find the option you indicated me, but as you can see in my screenshot, there isn't.... and I checked everywhere in the options... but nothing.

The host is a Windows 10 PC.

For your questions, I reply follow:

    >>>Also, just a few questions...

    >>>Do both of your devices have a monitor plugged in?

<The remote PC has a display plugged and now It's off.

    >>>Are they desktop, or laptop?

<The remote PC is a Windows 10 PC desktop.

<The controller is a MacBook Pro Apple Silicone M1.

Thank you, your help is very appreciate and seems I need them a lot a lot and a lot !!!😁

    Hi Stefano,

    Thanks for your reply! 😃

If the monitor is off the video output should be handled by Windows, and it certainly could affect the connection. (TeamViewer just reproduces the graphics sent by the monitor, so without a monitor, it would not be able to reproduce the screen.)

👉 When the monitor is on do you get the black screen? Or does the issue occurs only when the monitor is turned off?

  • Huge thanks a lot for your help!! I wish I had found this thread earlier. I was so sick and tired of this issue, guys. I’m glad it’s been solved. You know, at the age of 59, some tasks become complicated to do, actually. So, as I’ve said, I’m glad I’ve found this thread.

My son has recently installed an AMD Radeon graphic card [removed per Community Guidelines], and I’ve noticed some issues with TeamViewer too. Thankfully for me, it’s all been resolved. Thanks for your help!
