    Hi @CaptVan,

Yes, you can set it up so it never locks the remote computer when closing a session.

To do so, during a remote session, you need to go to Actions โžœ Lock computer and ensure Lock on session end is unticked.

Let me know if this has worked for you!

    Hello @katiesmith,

Great to see you posting for the first time! ๐Ÿš€

To prevent the remote screen from locking when closing a connection, you must access your (โš™) Advanced options and set the Lock remote computer option to Never.

With this setup, the remote screen won't lock after the remote control session ends.

Let me know if this was the answer you were looking for. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Hello JeanK,

I'm trying to do the same on a mac version (15.34.4). I don't see that option to "never lock remote computer". I'll attach 2 screen shots to show what I'm seeing.

Thanks for any help on showing me how to set it to never lock remote computer on session end.

    John

    Hi @CaptVan,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Could you mind checking in the Remote Control tab?

I think the Lock Remote Computer setting is there on macOS.

  • No, don't see it there either. I'm on 15.35.5 now.

    I've attached a screenshot again.

    Thanks,

    John

    Hi John,

    Sorry, it was my mistake.

You can only lock the remote computer by using the toolbar during a remote session: Use Remote Session Toolbar on macOS

    As stated in our article:

Lock Computer:ย Options for locking the remote machine

    Lock:ย Locks remote computer immediately

Lock on session end:ย When checked, any connection ended from your device will lock the remote machine. To deactivate, un-check the box in the menu drop-down

    Sorry again for the confusion!

  • Thank you, yes I have to do that every single time I log in. Is there no way to add to Macs "Never lock remote computer" as they have on PCs?

    I appreciate your time,

    John

  • I don't think you understand. I do what you suggest, I've been doing that for years. My gripe is why do I have to do it every single time I connect to another computer. I would like it to NEVER lock on session end.

    Thanks,

    John

I am sorry if my messages sounded confusing. I get that you want to make it permanent.

If you untick the Lock on session end setting, it is expected to stay for all your future connections and will never lock on the session remote session again, as long as you don't change it back.

Can you confirm it is working as expected?

  • I uncheck "lock on session end" for that session, close the app, then open again and the check mark is there and I have to uncheck again. I don't know any other way to explain what is happening. Please get a mac and do this for yourself.

    Thanks,

    John

I talked with our macOS dev team, who told me this feature is not working as expected on some Macs.

The feature should "remember the last choice", so remember if lock on session end is set (or not).

It seems that you are affected by this bug.

I hope this bug will be fixed in the future.
