Cant scan QR code for 2FA

When I try to scan the QR code on the desktop program google authenticator says it cannot interpret the QR code. I have tried reinstalling TeamViewer and even deleting the registry entries. I have tried multiple phones and multiple authenticator apps. Nothing is working. It's worth noting that I am able to set it up via the website. But in the program it sill shows as it not being enabled. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    We are still running into this in 2024. Did you get any guidance as to a cause / solution?
