Prevent employer from seeing IP on private device?

Needed to use Teamviewer on my own device for a new job. Don't want employer having the ability to track me and my own stuff. How can I change my IP? Does a VPN work? Other security practices that might be smart to implement. I use this device for multiple jobs so want to protect data for those jobs as well.
