Help needed setting up the free TeamViewer app

Hi.
I need help above. I've watched several videos but am no nearer.
I'm wanting to set up viewer on my android device so that I can check in on a VPS that I use.
I have an ID and password at my VPS end of things. But I just can't work out how to connect up the two (I.e. VPS and Android). I'm sure it's simple (albeit not for me).
Can anyone help? Thanks in anticipation.
