Remote Access Question

We would like to install TeamViewer on our computers and then make it so a tech can ONLY Remote Control the computer with "prompt for user permission". So far I have not been able to force this.

Any recommendations?

    Hi @TheSkyman,

Congrats on your first post in our Community! 🙌

Within the TeamViewer options on your computers, it is possible to make a prompt appearing when the tech wants to connect remotely for each session.

To do so, please follow the instructions below:

    1. Click on the Gear icon on the top-right corner
    2. Click on the Advanced tab
    3. In the section Advanced settings for connections to this computer, select Custom settings for Access Control then Configure...
    4. Select After confirmation for Connect and view my screen
    5. Click on OK to save

Also, feel free to modify the permission settings for the other actions, according to your needs 🙂

If you need any assistance, please reach out to us!

    Best,

  • Hi Jen!

Am I correct in thinking this for how the tech will connect to this individual computer? How can I make this the default for all computers?

    Thanks!

    Hi @TheSkyman,

    Thank you for your questions.

On the tech side, nothing will change: he can connect as usual to the computer. The only thing is that he will need to wait that the user on the remote computer accepts the connection.

💡 The prompt confirmation is shown for 30 seconds. After that, the connection attempt will be terminated. The tech will have to establish a new session and a new prompt will appear.

If you have a professional license that includes deployment (Corporate or Tensor license), it will be possible to deploy TeamViewer with that specific setting with the TeamViewer policies. You can learn how to create your policy 👉 here.

    Hope this can help you!

    Best,
