Ad device with password

Hi TW Team.

I am trying out the new interface and I have run into an issue

Is it no longer possible to add a device with password for easy access to the clints?

As far as I can see, it is only possible to add a bookmark for the devices, without a password.

I hope you can help me.

Best Regards

Joachim

    Hi @Jsorensen,

Thank you for posting in our Community! 🙂

We recommend setting up remote access on the remote device to connect with unattended access to it instead of the personal password.

To do so, please follow the process below:

    1. On the remote device, open TeamViewer.
    2. Log in to your TeamViewer account.
    3. Access the Devices list and make sure you are in the My Devices tab.
    4. On the top-right corner, click on +Add device.
    5. Select Set up remote access on this device and click Continue.
    6. Your TeamViewer account will be displayed. Please confirm by clicking Assign a device to my account.
    7. Allow TeamViewer to be available anytime by clicking Start TeamViewer with System.
    8. The device is now assigned to your TeamViewer account. Click Got it to finish the process.

If you have any further questions, please let us know!

    Have a nice day,

    Jen

    Hi Jen,

this is ease to use, but, my friends (developers) have their own license and their own account. And we have to work constantly on the same client. How to solve it, two accounts on one client?

    tnx

    Hi,

    Similar situation as KresimirH.

Several users connect to the same devices using fixed passwords on the client devices.

Why can't we store passwords for so called bookmarked devices using the new interface?

100+ devices, each with their unique PW...

  • @JenW That solution only works for Company Managed Device. It's not working for cross company devices such client devices. For example, I as freelancer, I have my own company license, and my clients also have their own licenses, I will not put (assign) my company account within any client devices (since it doesn't make sense, because we only provide support) and set it as my company managed devices.

This (bookmark) feature that allow us store not just TeamViewer ID and Alias but also Group and Device easy access password already exists in older version/interface but then in newer and new interfaces this feature of storing device easy access password is gone (only TeamViewer ID and Alias exists). The question is Why? Is there's any issue with these good feature? If Not, then why TeamViewer remove it if this feature doesn't have any issue (even on Commercial license account too)?

Anyway, if someone want to add password in their bookmarked device, you (should) can still do this on old interface (switch off the new interface).
