Connecting to a remote just display Starting Remote Screen

When trying to connect to a computer with 2 displays, all i get is the starting remote session screen. I don't see the remote computer.
The remote computer does think that there is a session in progress.
I am using the new interface but the old interface does the same thing.
What could be wrong?
