showing ready to connect but doesn't attempt to connect

My TeamViewer is showing a green ready to connect status

when I double click on a computer name, nothing happens, when I right click the computer name and select "remote control (prompt for confirmation)", nothing happens, when I enter a partner ID and click the connect button, nothing happens. I have tried exiting TeamViewer and restarting, I have tried restarting my machine, I have tried repairing TeamViewer, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling TeamViewer, I have updated my TeamViewer to the latest version, I have tried restarting the TeamViewer service in Services ... same issue continues throughout.

    Welcome to our Community and thanks for the detailed message with all the steps you already tried!

    Could you connect with this device before and it stopped working, or is this the first time you ever tried to remotely connect to it?

    By the description provided, it could be a firewall issue. Do you know if your device has any firewalls?

    If yes, please make sure that your network has all the ports open for TeamViewer.
