Device Group - Not allowing Easy Access
I have started pushing out new TV Host via SCCM.. testing worked great. However what i have noticed is there is an issue with the 'Managers' section..
The Device Group for all new installs has Managers (lets call them MgrGrp1) with permissions to allow Easy Access.
I have a deployment which uses 'Assignment' that I have tried to not include default Managers (so the Device Group assigns access via inherit). But what i am finding is that when i install on a new device it wont allow easy access..
If i use the new web interface (because old one wont let me) to setup the access levels on all new devices via 'assignment (or Roll-out on new web interface)' it allows me to choose a User Group 'MgrGrp1' but wont allow me to choose what default settings i want it to have..
Why do devices which are installed via custom module, and assignment (or Roll-out on new web interface), not inherit the managers from the device group it is in?
This is a huge issue as I now need to reinstall on over 500 devices to have it select via the 'assignment' individuals instead of via inherit from the Device Group the device is located in..
Hope this all makes sense and you can get back to me with a fix as this now causes issues with remote management and access for users. Especially if you hide the temp password meaning the end user can't provide one.

As you you can see it defaults to this when using the Roll-out or Assignment feature which is not inheriting from the Device Group.
I don't want to go to over 500 devices to manually adjust this.
Looking in the My permissions part (can't provide screen shot currently sorry) it shows that easy access is granted within the inherit from Device Group but it wont let me actually connect with easy access.
** Just another side note... Why is there such a delay between the classic web page and the new one syncing...

Hi @DarrynH,
Thanks a lot for asking your questions about your deployment.
The Easy Access permission cannot be set within the rollout configuration, as it's not part of it.
The best practice to grant Easy Access to your managers is to edit the device group permissions, as we explain here:
Grant Easy access to your devices and device groups (10/10)
So it shouldn't be too cumbersome if you don't have too many groups. 🙂
Let me know if this helped or if you have any further questions!

If Easy Access is not working even though it is set in the device group permission, I'd recommend opening a support ticket so our engineers can have a look at it.
