Unable to Connect desktop to laptop, but able to Connect laptop to desktop

This problem just began today - it worked yesterday.
When I choose the laptop name from TeamViewer on the desktop, the "Connect" button is grayed out. [As is the Connect button for a third pc in the house.]
When I go to the laptop and select the desktop, the Connect button becomes active and I can make a successful connection.
Can anyone help me to recover the ability to Connect "from" my desktop?
I have the free version.
