Using Free Version on Multiple OS's

Hi. I'm hoping that Team Viewer can help me assist my elderly father on his computer. Unfortunately, I have a Mac and he has a PC. Can this still be done?

If so, which version do I download? The full client? Or the Host version which allows me to access his computer without him being there? Does the full client include the Host version?

I just want to be able to EASILY be able to share a screen with him if I need to show him how to do something - OR simply just be able to login to his computer without his assistance if needed. He is OK with this. He just needs help on the computer all the time and trying to have him hold up the phone to the computer to show me what is going on just isn't working. :-)
