Teamviewer will not close after session and the screen background is black -how do I close it?

After finish a session the other party closed team viewer and my end did not close. I have a black background. I tried to remove the app but it said I have teamviwer running and have to close it before removing the app. so how do I close the session?

To close properly a TeamViewer session, you must click on the X in the right upper corner of the session toolbar.

Task manager, right-click Teamviewer, end task, and that's it.
