Using Team Viewer

I closed teamviewer and wanted to start another session. It opens with the ID but no password. It said another session is running - must close it in order to start a new one. Nothing on the computer show it is running - how do I close it in order to start a new one?

    Hello @Merced1234,

    Happy to see TeamViewer brings some positive progress on your side!

    Before I dig in further with TeamViewer Host, I would like to ask the question - How would you like to set up the remote connection?

    We have 3 main options for TeamViewer and they all have different functions:

    1. TeamViewer Full - the complete version of TeamViewer, accepting both incoming and outgoing connections;
    2. TeamViewer Host - the installed module of TeamViewer for ONLY accepting incoming connections;
    3. TeamViewer QuickSupport - the run-only module of TeamViewer for ONLY accepting spontaneous incoming connections.

    If you would like the remote TeamViewer to be able to start the outgoing connections while can receive the incoming connections, please install TeamViewer Full on the remote side.

    I am unsure if I understand your request correctly but hope the information above brings some hints to you.

    Hi @Merced1234,

    Welcome to the TeamViewer Community and asking for help!

    It could happen when the TeamViewer service needs a restart.

    Can you follow the steps in the gif below and try to restart the TeamViewer service on your computer? Then start the TeamViewer remote connection again to check if it works on your side.

    We are also keen to find out the result about your attempt. Hope to hear from you!

    GE Yang:

    Thank you for the Services.msc video. I was able to open the Services.msc and go to Teamviewer on my computer. See attached screenshot 17. I did stop and restart several times. Each time I would open Teamviewer Host then connect with TeamViewer ID. I am still not getting a password to share to open Teamviewer. Any additonal thoughts?

    If needed you can email me at [removed per Community Guidelines] or call me at [removed per Community Guidelines] in CA.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi @Merced1234,

    Thank you for getting back to me with more information and the screenshot!

    Please be advised to share personal information in the forum for privacy and information security purposes.

    Based on your case with using Host on the remote side, the password may be a no-show on TeamViewer. Usually, we suggest setting up Easy Access on TeamViewer Host with the TeamViewer account. It is easier and hassle-free without password authentication. Give it a go and we would like to hear about your thoughts on the Easy Access.

    GM Ying:

    I down loaded the Team Viwer Host set up and when finished I got this yellow triangle with the ! in it. ( see screenshot 18). I never saw the tick the box I accept the EULA and the DPA and click Continue.

    When I open host and go to Team viwer ID there is still no password. Do I give the other party the ID only to make the connection?

    Best regards,

    Hi Again Ying:

    I tried it and it connected with only the ID. When I closed it down the host was fine but the screen on the target stayed black. How do I make the black screen go away?

    Ying:

    I got the black screen to go away with Windows set up - so it is ok.

    Another question- When I hit Team viewer host my ID comes up - how do I get the screen to put someone else ID in to hook up with them.

    The attached is a log on to teamviewer from another computer that shows Allow remote control on one side with my ID and password and another column for control remote (target) computer. where you put in the target computer ID then hit connect. How do I get this screen to come up when I hit Teamviewer Host?

    Any thoughts?
