Important updates for TeamViewer on macOS 15 Sequoia
Dear TeamViewer Community,
Apple’s latest macOS 15, named Sequoia, introduces some new security features that will impact the TeamViewer user experience. To ensure smooth remote access and avoid interruptions, please review the following changes and recommendations when using TeamViewer on macOS 15.
Note: This applies to users running the public beta of TeamViewer 15.58. If you are running TeamViewer 15.57 or below, you will not yet be able to give Remote Desktop consent.
System Private Window Picker warning
Starting with macOS 15, a System Private Window Picker warning may appear on the remote (target) side during a session.
Currently, this warning reappears monthly and does not affect your remote session. However, Apple is expected to modify this behavior in future updates. When that happens, the supporter side will see only a blank screen, which will block unattended access.
To prevent this, Remote Desktop consent will be required (see below).
Remote Desktop user consent
With TeamViewer 15.58 or newer (Full client, Host, and QuickSupport), users will be able to grant Remote Desktop consent in addition to existing permissions (Screen Recording, Accessibility, and Full Disk Access).
Granting Remote Desktop consent will ensure that unattended access remains functional.
This consent request will appear automatically when establishing a session to the device.
For TeamViewer full client and Host, you can manually request consent by going to Help ➜ Check system access and clicking Set up Remote Desktop.
Important: TeamViewer cannot display the status of this consent. You will need to verify it in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Remote Desktop.
Local Network access dialog
When you establish a session on macOS 15, you will see a dialog asking for permission to access the local network.
Allowing local network access enables features like:
- Direct UDP connections between TeamViewer devices on the same network. This improves performance and reduces network load.
- Nearby device discovery, which allows TeamViewer to find other devices on the local network. Note that this feature has been turned off by default since TeamViewer 15.57.
You can review the status of Local Network access in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.
For a seamless update of TeamViewer on macOS 15 Sequoia, we recommend reviewing these settings and granting the necessary permissions. If you encounter any issues, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team.
Stay connected,
