Dear TeamViewer users,

We are excited to announce a new feature for remote connections with TeamViewer: Remote guidance for iOS devices. This innovative addition allows supporters to provide real-time assistance to iOS users through a picture-in-picture window, enhancing the support experience.

What is a picture-in-picture window?

The picture-in-picture (PiP) window allows the supporter to guide the end user more effectively, helping them navigate their screen and click in the right places. When the supporter clicks on their screen, the end user will see a zoomed-in view of the area that was clicked within the PiP window. It ensures that end users can see exactly where they need to interact with their devices.

To provide flexibility and control over their device during the remote session, the end user has full control over the PiP window. They can move it around the screen and resize it to avoid obstructing their view or they can close it whenever they want.

What are the benefits of Remote guidance for iOS?

Since direct remote control of an iOS device isn’t available, assisting users, especially those who are not tech-savvy, can be challenging. This new feature is a game-changer for supporting iOS devices. It allows supporters to guide users through their device’s interface, making troubleshooting and assistance much more effective.

Easy to configure, both supporters and end users will find it simple to set up. The connection method remains the same, ensuring a smooth transition to using Remote guidance. This simplicity not only saves time but also helps avoid errors during setup and troubleshooting. Moreover, one of the best aspects of this feature is the low latency of the PiP window, ensuring real-time interaction, which provides a seamless and efficient support experience, increasing customer satisfaction.
