Stuck on "Starting Remote Session"

I have a new lenovo tablet running android os. Whether I try to login from my laptop, or from the webapp, the window gets stuck on "starting remote session". If I click on dashboard, it is showing CPU usage, memory, available disk space, etc. The connection is at least initiated enough to pull the stats of the device, but nothing else else through TV Host on the tablet.

Rebooting the tablet hasn't made a difference.
