Enable One-Time Access Feature broken in 15.60.3 Host

The Enable One-Time Access Feature is broken in 15.60.3 Host New UI. This works when you have Enable One-Time Access Feature box checked in old UI and previous versions. When you update to 15.60.3 with the new UI, if this box is checked no password will ever be generated to allow remote control. If you uncheck the box a password will be generated. This feature is reversed.

    Hi @PhilipYoung,

Good to see you posting again!

It seems there is some confusion regarding the "Enable One-Time Access" feature and the random password. Let me clarify the differences between both features.

    1. Random password:
      • This can be controlled via Options ➜ Advanced ➜ Advanced settings for connections to this computer.
      • Here, you can define if the Host should display a random password, set its length, or completely deactivate it. If deactivated, no password will be shown in the Host's interface.
    2. One-time access password:
      • This feature allows users to grant access to their devices for only one remote control session. The user generates a one-time password that is valid for a single incoming connection. Once the remote session is closed, the one-time access password is no longer valid.

It appears there is an issue with the one-time password on the Host in version 15.60.3. Therefore, I recommend not using this feature for now.

How we recommend connecting to your remote device

For unattended access, we recommend assigning the Host to your account. You can find detailed instructions here:

    https://www.teamviewer.com/en/global/support/knowledge-base/teamviewer-remote/remote-control/provide-unattended-remote-support/

If you want to control your remote device via attended access:

    1. Go to Options ➜ Security ➜ Untick the "Enable One-Time Access password" box.
    2. Go to Options ➜ Security and enable the random password by choosing its length.

The random password will then be displayed again, allowing a connection.

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

  • There is no misunderstanding. You've described exactly what I said.

No worst, with 15.62.4 it simply doesn't generate a password whether the Enable One-Time Access is activated or not.
