UBUNTU connects for a second and then disconnects

Hello, Have a commercial log in and am having trouble connecting to a new Ubuntu device from my PC and iOS app. It will connect but just before the desktop would be displayed it disconnects. I can still connect to a windows machine. The device does say it needs to be migrated. Would this fix my issue? And if so can this be done remotely? I wont have access to this device for a week or so.
