Scrollbars showing in full screen mode

This problem has been reported before in this forum (as far back as 2021!) but it still seems to persist in 2025. Am using Ubuntu 22.04 and TeamViewer 15.61.3 on both the local and remote machines.

When the remote machine has the same screen resolution as my local monitor (2560 x 1440 in this case), when I go into full screen mode I see scrollbars on the right and bottom sides. This is unacceptable, because depending on how your desktop is arranged, some parts of the screen can't be accessed without scrolling.

A rather impractical workaround is to go into full screen mode and then change the display resolution on the remote machine to something else (e.g. 1920 x 1080) and then switch it back to 2560 x 1440, at which point the scrollbars disappear. This is not a good solution, though, because if you later leave full screen mode and then go back into full screen mode, the scrollbars come back.

Surely there is way to make this work properly, otherwise what is the point of the "full screen" mode at all? Is it a bug in TeamViewer, is there a better workaround, is anyone investigating this? Thanks!

  • So no response to this after nearly a month. Does anyone here know how best to get someone from TeamViewer to look into this, please? Am using a paid-for version with a corporate account.

Ironically I've tried using the "Help → Feedback" menu option in TeamViewer to report this, but the "Send" button doesn't seem to work, at least not on Ubuntu!
