Getting support for this is worse than pulling teeth.
Going to the help page and clicking support, you get a chat. They tell you to pay 300 or leave them alone. Then they try to tell me that my account gets flagged because I'm accessing a personal device from a personal device for personal reasons as outlined by the personal free license usage
https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/global/support/knowledge-base/teamviewer-remote/licenses/licenses-and-features/free-license-feature-overview/.
"Customer Support" Giovana S then tells me that I just need to fill out the form for a reset, or go away. Trying to go to the reset form, redirects to a page that is about a 5 minute read amounting in '**bleep** to be you, pay 300 and accept that your personal usage is actually not because I want more money!' I'm told that it's always been this way (I've read this all before and used this program for several years. It was not always like this if so).
So, essentially the 'Get help' button is actually just a chat for pushing sales, which they also said.
This is a long lead-in to the question I suppose but more information:
I have a personal windows PC I run my plex server for personal use from. It is in an awkward location, so I access it remotely.
Access is from my personal android phone and my personal linux pc (steam deck).
I manage the files, install/uninstall things/update windows/etc, close hung processes, things like that.
None of this is done for any personal gain, nor is my work laptop ever involved.
Upon the site's own definitions, I should not be flagged.
I have had to do this before.
I was seeking assistance before filling it out to find out how to prevent this from happening YET AGAIN. This was not the first time this has happened to me.
The most frustrating thing is how hidden support is. Essentially you can't get to any support without paying unless it is posting here, which I do not see how it will help, but I'm doing anyway.
I also do tech support for another company, so I recognize that the training isn't always there.
I'm looking into alternatives as I can't reliably use the free software at the moment, but I prefer the ease of use when it does work. If the application was good enough to warrant paying for personal use in my scenario, I would, but even then 300 per year is out of touch.
TL;DR
Can someone explain how my usage is business?
Why were my "support options" Pay $300 or fill out a form that redirects you to a page telling you you aren't allowed to fill out the form, but you can make a forum post?
