Disable automatically "Lock remote computer" on Mac

For a version or two now (not full releases, but at least since I've used anything starting with 12), when I remote control my Mac (running Mac OS Sierra), it seems as though regardless of what settings or checkboxes I tick or untick or where, I cannot prevent my Mac from automatically locking and logging the local user out when I disconnect from it on whatever computer I'm accessing from. This is incredibly problematic for me, as I usually keep things running and check my Mac just to look in on things, but I cannot now, as logging out will just stop everything and log out. 

I have seen threads related to this, but they are for slightly older versions of TeamViewer and also simply verify that there is no current solution (as of that time) and in fact the proper options have been removed(?) from TeamViewer's settings.
