Teamviewer vs Teamviewer Host

I'm a frequent traveller and I would like to access my home desktop. I need an unattended remote access which is Teamviewer Host, however it seems that the normal version does the same task too.

What's the difference between Teamviewer and it's Host version?

I need a solution that allows me to access my desktop anytime (auto start-up on boot) without needing somebody to start the App upon reboot. Which should I use?

If I should be using the Host version, which App do I use for remote access?

  • Thank you for clarification.

In my mac, I would like to have the app as the host version, but sometimes I need the teamviewer client to access a smartphone of mine.

Matter is that if I install the other version of Teamviewer, the complete one, the host one gets automatically removed.

Then I have to keep the Teamviewer version running and in the dock all the time and I don't like it, both aestetically and for it takes more resources.

Do you know if there is a way yo keep them both or install, beside the host one, a client version which could cohexist with the host?

    Thank you.
