TV 3 Ctrl+C or Ctrl+V enables the keyboard to keep on writing by itself

I am connected from Ubuntu to Ubuntu 
trying to copy paste from Browser (chrome or firefox) to intellij and the opposite
enables the keyboard to keep writing by itself. 
I am copying and pasting among different windows in the remote machine, and not between my local machine and my remote machine, although i don't think that matters, but thought to mention.

I think pressing Ctrl on a browser is what enables this behaviour.
