Alt-tab when in fullscreen breaks keyboard input

I'm using Xubuntu 17.04 with Teamviewer 13 as the client remoting into a Windows 10 host. I move the Teamviewer window to a second workspace so I can easily switch between the my remote session and my local computer. 

When I Alt-Tab out of habit, it doesn't get forwarded to the host, and instead breaks keyboard input for the fullscreen window, however mouse movement is still fine. If I exit then re-enter fullscreen mode keyboard input is restored.

P.S. is there a way to get beta builds? I don't mind living on the bleeding edge and helping with debugging.
