Web Client won't connect
For about a week now I haven't been able to use the web client to remote access my home computer. Sometimes I need to access this PC from work, where I am unable to install the TeamViewer software/apps on my work system and have to use the browser-based web client. I have TeamViewer v.13 installed on my home computer with Unattended Access running, and was always able to use the web client on a work browser fine. Now whenever I try to connect, during the authentication process I get a message saying "Session is finished" before it connects every single time. I have tried on both Chrome and Firefox with the same result. I can log into my account fine, my home computer is shown online, but as soon as I try to connect, somewhere along the process it stops with the "Session is finished" message and sends me back to the login screen. The log says authentication has failed, but at home using my laptop, I can connect to my main PC using my account passwords with the Teamviewer software and Chrome app with no problems. Only the web client is giving me this issue, and that is my only option from my work PC. Help would be appreciated!

This problem is continuing to persist for me. I've sent in feedback and have continued to hear nothing about this issue. It has been going on now for pretty much the whole month of March, and since Web Client is the only way I can access my host computer from my work PC, since my work PC is locked down and I can't install any software or apps on it, this is really getting to be a problem. Is there any ETA on this issue, or does anyone know of an alternative remote access software that has a web browser remote access option similar to the web client option that was in Teamviewer?

Still not been able to connect using web client.
Log file shows fatal error: Authentication failed, as per below. I've reset my password so know it is not incorrect. Home pc with TV13 installed is on Windows 10. Using IE11 on Win7 at work to try and connect to home pc.

Same problem for me... Are there any news about this problem ?

I've resolved the issue - at least for me in my situation - not sure if this will help anyone but worth a shot.
I use MS Internet Explorer (MSIE) - not Google Chrome because 'Flash' is disabled in Google Chrome where I'm at.
The issue is 'Edge' mode in MSIE. Changing this to emulate MSIE 10 allowed the browser option of TeamViewer to work again.
For those that are not sure how to change this here is what I did:
- Load the logon page for TeamViewer - don't enter credentials yet
- Press (F12) for the Developer Tools - wait as the screen will reload possibly
- When the Developer Tools area loads
- Look to the far right, at the top, of the Developer Tools area for [Emulation] and click it
- Look to the far left, above the word Mode for an icon (gear and 3 lines) and click it
- It should look 'highlighted' now and if you put your mouse cursor over it a pop-up should read 'Persist Emulation settings enabled'
- Now below the word Mode you should see Document mode with a dropdown box, change that dropdown to be the value "10"
- Now wait a moment as your screen will probably refresh
- Once your browser screen refreshes, go ahead and enter your credentials and log in
- Now go through your normal process of 'Connecting' to your remote desktop and using the 'Web Client'
- This normally opens a new [TAB] in your browser
- If the new [TAB] does not have the Developer Tools showing, press (F12) so it shows
- Make sure the new [TAB] Developer Tools has the same settings as you had done on the 1st [TAB]
- Now try to connect to your Remote Desktop with the appropriate credentials
- You should now see your remote desktop.

The MSIE10 emulation trick didn't work for me too
Doesn't work in FIrefox too (with FLash enabled)

I manage to make it works using similary trick !!!
I used Edge (not MSIE) and "Apple Safari (Ipad)" emulation and managed to make web access work ! So, try several emulation types and you should success

Works with another trick with Firefox !!!
Install a plugin to switch user-agent (mine : User-Agent-Switcher).
Switch to "Apple iOS" (maybe some others work too)
Web access works !0 -
So as I mentioned this worked for me - with MSIE - and I'm glad people were able to take away from it and formulate their own solution for their particular setup. Now if we can just get the TeamViewer personnel to work a fix.
Something I also notice for my solution above - with regards to the 2nd [Tab] for the actual Remote Connection:
It usually fails the first time, I have to 'reload' the 2nd [Tab] which causes the 'Login' to display again for TeamViewer. After logging in again I'm re-presented with the 'connection' log in information - enter the information again and connecting 99% of the time results in a successful connection to my desktop.
My emulator settings are:
Document Mode (10) // User agent string (Internet Explorer 10)

This solution doesn't work in 2023
