Whitelist bug

I added my ID to a remote system out of curiosity. I later deleted it, and was no longer able to connect to the system because it said I was on the blacklist, which I was not. Deleting a whitelist entry should mean just that; it should have no impact/relevence to the blacklist.

v13.1.3206 on Ubuntu, both ends.

This is not what the error says. It says "You are EITHER Blacklisted OR not Whitelisted by your partner"

If you have set up a whitelist, then you must be on this whitelist to connect which is the purpose of a whitelist. You cannot have a whitelist and Blacklist at the same time (As this would be pointless).

All you need to do is turn off the whitelist. Go back into the settings and set it back to "Deny Access for the following partners" with no entries. If you set this to "Allow Access only for the following partners" without any entries, you cannot connect.
