This article applies to all TeamViewer IoT users.

TeamViewer IoT is currently available for Linux machines; reference the full list of Compatible Platforms/OS for more details.

In order to extend support to Windows machines, a Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) version of the TeamViewer IoT solution is provided via IoT Labs. WSL is a bundled Linux subsystem available with Windows 10.

To get started with TeamViewer IoT for WSL:

  • Install the Ubuntu WSL on your Windows 10 machine Installation GuideNote - Currently Ubuntu is the only supported distribution for WSL
  1. Download TeamViewer IoT For WSL
  2. Follow the installation steps in the Agent Installation Guide

Due to limitations with WSL, TeamViewer IoT does not autostart when WSL is started/restarted. Once the Agent has been successfully installed, you can start the agent by running (Double Clicking) the WSL Agent Start Script from your Windows Desktop. The script will start both WSL and the TeamViewer IoT Agent.
