Team Viewer Keeps Shuting Down

I have Team Viewed downloaded on a desk top computer.  I am able to log in on that computer and connect remotely to my lap top, however once i close the Team Viewer on the desk top I can not use my laptop to remote access into the desk top.  What I found out was that I need to minimize team viewer on the desk top in order to be able to remote into it from the laptop.  I do not have this issue with my laptop, where team viewer always seems to runnning in background on start up.  Is there a setting a new to change to have the Team Viewer on my desk top always be live.
