View a video remotely

Is there a way to view a video DVD that is playing remotely on a different computer? When I attempt to share my screen (with a DVD playing), my video app shows up to them as a grey box instead of playing the DVD.

Using Mac DVD Player app on MacOS Mojave 10.14.4.

I have attempted to use both presentation mode and remote control mode.
