Add custom field column in "Computers & Contacts" list

How can I add an additional column in the "Computers & Contacts" list? 

I have the option to add custom fields to each client, this is handy - but even more so if it can be populated in list form.

    Thanks, but this “solution” is 14 months old and states can’t be done.  That is not a solution.
