[Windows] v15.4.4445 (Full) - Change Log
Operating system: Windows
Version: 15.4.4445
Release date: 2020-03-24
Change Log:
New features:
- Control TeamViewer Pilot usage and access rights throughout your organization using rules you configure within the Management Console.
- The possibility to send key combinations such as [Alt]+[Tab] or [Windows]+[R] is now available!
When connecting from Linux to Windows, it's now possible to transmit various key combinations: switching the applications on Windows by using [Alt]+[Tab], opening the run command with [Windows]+[R], and so on. - The MSI installer now offers the possibility to import the *.tvopt format which is generated when exporting options from a TeamViewer client. The import of a '.reg file is still possible.
- You can no longer start a direct file transfer to a remote system with restricted folder permissions (like macOS 10.15) without allowing full disk access in advance to prevent the client from becoming unresponsive. Within the session you need at least the possibility to view and control the remote screen on restricted systems.
- You can now also copy screenshots within a session from the Snip & Sketch tool and paste them on the other side of the connection.
- A new MSI parameter called "SETTINGSFILE" has been introduced, which allows to specify a path to a *.tvopt option file. This means that the option file no longer has to be located next to the MSI installer as it used to be when using IMPORTREGFILE. This new parameter replaces IMPORTREGFILE.
- Android devices that are not supported by ARCore can now connect to an augmented reality session. The session will run in compatibility mode (2D).
- You can now record augmented reality sessions and save them for documentation and training.
- You can now see the fingerprint of your partner's device in the log files.
Improvements:
- Usability improvement for the status bar: the connection status is now also displayed at the bottom of the Computers & Contacts list.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed a copy & paste bug that prevented copying an image from a Windows computer and pasting it to a macOS or Linux computer.
- Fixed a bug where a file transfer would sometimes get stuck if a job within the queue was aborted.
- Fixed a bug that caused some tabs to be missing from the TeamViewer window after start.
- Fixed a bug that caused a black screen after switching to a second monitor, until the mouse was moved.

Will the mass deployment guide be updated with information about the new SETTINGSFILE parameter? Seems odd that you push a change like that with no additional information about it. I can't even find how to create a .tvopt file - can I only do that after I've updated to 15.4.4445? I'm on 15.3.8497 but only have the option to create a .reg file with settings.
You haven't even updated the manuals that comes with the download of the .msi-installs - what gives? There's not ONE sentence about the SETTINGSFILE parameter. Seems awfully rushed, and badly handled.

I can answer my own question - Yes you need to update before you get the option to create a .tvopt-file. Clear as glass...

Hello Teamviewer, I found the new SETTINGSFILE option for the TVOPT file.
However, it seems the file can only be found when the full path is used. When using Mass softwaredeployment tools like Microsoft SCCM this is to say the least unhandy, as the installers are dropped in cached folders so the path is different with every installation.
Example:
SETTINGSFILE=C\TEST\TeamViewer_Settings.tvopt --> Works
SETTINGSFILE=TeamViewer_Settings.tvopt --> Does not work.
Error is: Settings file does not exist or could not be accessed: TeamViewer_Settings.tvopt
Instead, we also need to be able to use filename only to call it in the MSI parameters.
Can you please fix this before IMPORTREGFILE=1 is being deprecated?

I was skeptical about Teamviewer 15 release, but with recent versions, the improvment on Computer & contacts window is really appreciated.
Since It's the only window I use (for connecting to computers), it's really nice to have a small window, plus the new indicator at bottom is really useful.
If you're still motivated by improving it, can you allow the topbar field ("Insert partner ID") to conserve history (like the "partner ID" field in the historical home page) ?
Keep up the good work !

I can only use the file's full path. We need to be able to call the file how ever we want as when mass deploying the installer the install files are always in a random cache folder.

The issue with using the /settingsfile tvopt file needs addressed ASAP as it's getting on the way of patching.
