My Teamviewer has the same id as my remote partner !
Hey, this is strange. I just updated to version 12 and now my TeamViewer has generated the same login id as my remote partner. Can't establish a connection as all I get are "You have enteredthe ID of your own computer". No matter how many times we both restart TeamViewer, it's the same thing. Is there any way to force a regeneration of the login ID ?

Nope. Removing/Clearing Settings/Reinstalling is NO help.
Same exact ID with every reinstall now in version 12.
What does work is starting TV from a different computer logon.
Turns out that my remote client just uses the default lonin on the computer I sold him.
Same login name that I generally use. So the login name has the heavy hand in decising the ID ?
Not so slick TV team better fix this quick, lol !

Uninstall TeamViewer makeing sure to check off the "remove settings" Checkbox then re-install.

Yep, just verified. Even perfoming a proper deinstall using TV prefPanel->Advanced with clear settings checked is no help with today's version. Reinstallations all carry the same exact TV ID for a given logon username. Maybe the password comes into play as well or at least I hope so
