Can't update

I am getting  "An error occurred while updating TeamViewer. Please check log file for more information."  This question was posted  28JUL17, with no answer given.

I'm dead in the water here because the partner has a newer version.  The log file may as well have been writen in Sanscrit for all the help it offers.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
