Teamviewer ignores proxy settings

Options

I have a SOCKS proxy server on a remote machine, and putty connected to that server on my local machine.  I use this proxy to tunnel web traffic, scp, etc.  I've tried also configuring TeamViewer to use this proxy, however, it seems to completely ignore the settings.  In fact, I can type in a completely invalid IP address and/or port and it still connects just fine (but not through the proxy, obviously).  If it was respecting these settings, I'd expect to TeamViewer to be unable to connect if invalid info was intered.  Are there additional settings needed to actually get TeamViewer to connect via the proxy?  Thanks!

In testing a different proxy server related issue, I discovered that TV always attempts a direct connection first, before using a defined proxy.

In your case, if the direct connection works (it can ping one of the ping*.teamviewer.com servers) then it wont attempt the proxy settings.

This can be seen in the client side log files.
