no activation via linux Mint?

I'm using a fully updated version of Linux Mint and cannot log into TeamViewer (using teamviewer account and password) on the  teamviewer pop up which show contacts etc.  It keeps looking for an "activation" which has never worked.  Sometimes I get the activation email but clicking the activation doesn't activate, as it still will not take my password.  It must see the account because when I use a nonvalid password I get the account not found, as would be correct.

The account will activate on windows okay, but that still leaves my Linux computers useless.

This app is for personal use only as setup.

Frustrated and would like some insight on how to fix this.
