There are many threads for TeamViewer13 not working on VM instances with lightdm installed.  And even when I install lightdm it doesnt' work (beause lightdm is not actually controlling anything probably)?

Then there was this: "Once we get the (non-installed) TAR package fixed, you might prefer it however. You should be able to just start it when needed and it should also work if no desktop manager exists.""  But that was written in 2017.  I am using the current tar version (after trying current .deb and .rpm) and still it doesn't work.

What happens is that I start teamviewer and the text console says that the TeamViewer GUI is launching, then it returns me to command prompt, then nothing.  This is what it looks:

What is the solution to run TeamVIewer 13 without lightdm please?
