Teamviewer 12 don't show GUI on Ubuntu 16.04

Hi,

I have this problem, installed Teamviewer 12 in my Ubuntu 16.04 machine (I previously had TW 11 without any problem), worked for few days then suddenly stopped working. Clicking on the dash icon or launching from the terminal the GUI don't show up, this is the output of the terminal:

rocco@rocco-HP-Notebook:~$ teamviewer

Init...
CheckCPU: SSE2 support: yes
XRandRWait: No value set. Using default.
XRandRWait: Started by user.
Checking setup...
Launching TeamViewer ...
Launching TeamViewer GUI ...
rocco@rocco-HP-Notebook:~$

The only working solution is to purge teamviewer, delete every single trace from the system and reinstall.. however it works for a couple of days and the problem comes back! I already did it several times..

This is gui.log

Re: Teamviewer 12 don't show GUI on Ubuntu 16.04

I solved in this way, looking at /home/user/.config/teamviewer/client.conf the parameter [strng] FT_Start_Directories = "" was ridicolous long and I simply deleted anything between the " " as many of the directories were not even at my computer. Now Teamviewer is back without any need to reinstall!

Re: Teamviewer 12 don't show GUI on Ubuntu 16.04

Dang, I really wish this was the problem with mine.  I don't even have that setting in my client.conf.  I have to restart about 5 or 6 times per day via cmd line.  It's horrible.

Re: Teamviewer 12 don't show GUI on Ubuntu 16.04

Hi,

I have some a problem, but my client.conf don't have the parameter:

[strng] FT_Start_Directories = ""

my file client, conf only contains this:

TeamViewer User Settings
# It is not recommended to edit this file manually

[int32] LastCorrectorRun = 1
[strng] Meeting_UserName = "kali"

where you put the parameter changed?

Thanks!!!

Same here.

Adding the string to client.conf doesn't work.

This is my log file:
