Creating a contact using IP address

We are connecting our customers using their internal network IP addresses. Need to create a list of all installations and faced a problem of teamviewer not being able to save a Host if IP address is used. It requires Teamviewer ID. How come this is not possible? THere is no way for us to use the ID.
