"Launching teamviewer ..."

proud possessor of a life-long version of teamviewer 10; in some newer linux distributions (ubuntu, opensuse leap 15, opensuse tumbleweed), calling "teamviewer" (after successfully calling "systemctl start teamviewerd") permanently waits afte the above terminal note, without showing up the graphical teamviewer window.
In those cases, priorly, installing teamviewer from the "*.rpm"- or "*.deb"-file was initially complicated by error messages concerning the font/ttf, which however could be eliminated by installing a patch of "xdg-desktop-file-utils-master.zip" by freedesktop.org from github.
How can I use my teamviewer 10 here?
