Android tablet goes to sleep, offline, can't connect

Hi, I am running an unattended Android tablet overseas that we gave to our parents.
It works well, I transfer new pictures to it for them to see, and we Skype.
However, occasionally it goes offline and I cannot connect to it, and Skype does not connect either. Then I get a popup a few hours later that it spontaneously goes online. Is there a way that I can prevent it from going into deep sleep?
I am running the latest TeamViewer 12 on my Windows 10 laptop, and on the remote Galaxy Tab S2 with Nougat I installed TeamViewer Host for Samsung.
