Question from a university core facility

Options

I am with a core instrumentation facility at a major universtiy. Many of our vendors use TeamViewer to do remote support on our instruments.  However, we cannot keep computers with outdated operating systems (say Windows 7) on the network.  Plus, even Windows 10 computers cannot stay on the network without installing all of the local admin overhead, which most vendors do not want to see on their instrument control computers.  Plus, it makes our lives harder if all the users have to log in individually.

So my question: is it possible to have a "portal computer" between teh instrument and the internet, where TeamViewer links the portal to the instrument as well as the portal to the vendor?  If so, is it possible to license the portal computer to "float" between different instruments?  (It is rate to have remote service on multiple instruments at once.

Thanks,

Gary
