Samsung J6 remote control stopped working

For the past 2 years I used Quick Support + Samsung Addon to access my dad's phone when he run into trouble moving icons all other the place, uninstalling apps by mistake, installing new apps when needed and so on. About 2 months ago, he had some issues agian, I tried to get in his phone from my PC, he accepted the connection but on my side it says "partner rejected connection". Tried multiple times and still getting the same error. Not sure what broke it, either a Samsung update or a Teamviewer update but I'd like to get it working again as he's locked in the house because of the pandemic and I'm 6000 miles away and unable to help him when he needs it the most.
