Contacts lost in Ver 12

I have been using non-commercial for my family. The 12 update went install crazy and upgraded from 11 to 12. I lost all my contacts with user info. Where are they? How do I get them back? Cannot rebuild them from scratch. This makes for a sour taste already for Ver. 12. Roger Manning
