"An unexpected error occured" After each 16-character Recovery Code Entry

I receive a "An unexpected error occurred: mWhraMDJZia-3--32-bKj" after entering my recovery code. I must deactivate 2FA after resetting my password, but an error occurred dialog is displayed upon each instance. The bottom line is my 16-character Recovery Code is not working! Will someone please help? Thanks in advance.
