Can I use Teamviewer via a router but with no internet?

I use teamviewer on a boat that has a computer for navigation and a tablet as a repeater (via teamviewer). In the past we have used teamviewer via a router installed on the boat but with no internet access. The two communicated via the router. This does not want to work this year after running update, will only work through a cellphone acting as a hot spot. I'm assuming this is because the cell phone is connecting to the net. Is there a way around this? Thanks in advance.

You can use TeamViewer in a LAN. For this you need to make sure that incoming LAN connections are accepted via Extras --> Options --> General --> Under Network settings --> Incoming LAN connections --> choose accept or accept exclusively

With this you are making connections via the IP address and not via the TeamViewer ID (the ID requires internet). Does that help?
