If you are using Xorg there should be support, look for the Cog icon next to the sign in button and change session for Gnome with Xorg and you will be able to use TeamViewer to remote into your Ubuntu box. Wayland as of the writing of this response is still not supported for inbound connections, just outbound. Have a nice one!
