Remote Connecting is my issue

Hello
I bought a new desk top. Wireless. No matter what I did I could not connect to this new computer (remotely). Then I discovered that it is impossible to have RDC with a wireless computer. So I hardwired with an ethernet cable. I still can not connect to this computer.
I have since upgraded windows to 11 but even when it was Win 10 I could not connect.
I can RDC with my mother's computer to help her but I can not connect to this new one.
