Remote PC shows Awaiting authentication and eventually times out

I cannot connect to my PC remotely. I have done so before but now all I get is "incoming connection" then "Awaiting authentication". After several minutes "authentication failed". I have tried rebooting this pc. I have tried connecting from a different pc and mobile. From this pc I can connect to all the PCs in my Computers and Contacts.

I have 2 factor authentication enabled. I have my mobile added in the Manage approval devices.

What are the recommended next troubleshooting steps?

I re-added my mobile as an approval device. I restarted my app on my phone. I kept trying to connect. Eventually a prompt came up on my phone to allow or deny the connection to my pc, I clicked on Allow and was able to connect. It seems to be working now - but seems odd that the authenticating device requires me to authentic when connecting while using it.
