Hello.

When setting up computers me and my colleafues always set the same password. (i.e. "fryfish25"). However it is not accepted anymore since V15.3 (Too Weak). At V15.26 it is still being accepted. Is there a way how to lower the PW strength minimum requirements?

For now we are using "fryfish25?" but wed like to keep the old one.

Stated PWs are obviously examples resembling the structure.

Congrats on your first post!

It is not possible to lower the password requirements.

The best way to go here would be to update the passwords to the new strength requirements on all devices to prevent further connection issues.

These are the password strength requirements:

Passwords must contain at least 8 characters, combining uppercase and lowercase letters with number digits as well as special characters.

Please do not use dictionary words or terminology that might be used commonly by other people. You should also avoid adjacent keyword combinations like “qwerty” or “1q2w3e4r”. In general, aspire to create a password that is truly unique.

A password manager can help with discipline. Please keep in mind that TeamViewer will not accept passwords that are easy to guess like a term that can be found in a dictionary or uses an easy-to-remember keyboard series like the ones mentioned above.

Changing the TeamViewer password of your devices is only feasible manually on each device.

If you are connecting to your own devices (unattended access), we recommend connecting via Easy Access and not using passwords at all.

If Easy Access is the way to want to connect, you can also deploy it via the MSI package across your IT infrastructure.

What are the specific requirements for a password.

Ours meets what is listed for the minimum but still being rejected for being too weak

This isn't one we would use but I can't figure out why some are being denied.

Also, your link is the same information you posted, there is nothing more detailed there.

The thing here is that the word "TeamViewer" is automatically flagged as weak, as it's TeamViewer related.

If you try any other password that is non-TeamViewer related, it will work.

For example:

Blu3$h4Rk!?

will be accepted as a password.

We have the same issue where our previous password is now being flagged as weak.

I do not like the idea of having two potential passwords for TeamViewer connections across our 1,500 clients. Is there an easy way I can update the TeamViewer Remote Control password across all of my client? I've done a bit of Googling but not found much.
